PNC Candidate Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says the difference in population should not determine the amount of developmental changes that should be brought to an island.
He said this in remarks made to PNC supporters in Haa Alifu Hoarafushi during his campaign trip to the northern Atoll today.
The Mayor said that the difference in the population of the islands should not be a factor when bringing developmental changes to the islands as all the citizens are equal.
He further said that there should be no differentiation between citizens when bringing changes that all the citizens require.
Muizzu promised that if he is elected as the next President, the people would see him working to bring positive changes to the islands that the people of the islands want to see, and that too without discrimination.
He noted that the residents of Hoarafushi also want the same things as the residents of other islands and that these were housing, jobs, and ways to earn income.
He said that the major hurdle for housing projects in Hoarafushi was the lack of land and that under his administration, more land would be reclaimed on the island and housing projects would be carried out in a way that creates jobs.
The PNC Candidate highlighted that the government had not done enough to enhance the healthcare system on the island and that he would develop a hospital in Hoarafushi.
