Police have arrested five individuals including two locals and three foreigners for solicitation in the capital Male'.
They said the individuals were arrested in a raid conducted on Allora Spa on the 20th of this month.
Police said that the raid was conducted after a tip from an informant stated that the spa was a hotspot for solicitation and that the raid was carried out by the Police Special Operation forces along with its Anti-Human Trafficking department as well its Intelligence department and Maldives Immigration Services.
Police said that in the raid they arrested two foreign women aged 34 and another foreign woman aged 43.
They also said that the two local men were arrested in the raid and that they were 38 and 39 respectively. Police added that some of the suspects were arrested while scantily clothed.
Police said that the 39-year-old has been remanded in custody for 5 days by the Court while they gave the 38-year-old a remand period of 10 days.
The Court remanded the three women for 15 days in custody.
Police are further investigating the case.
