Police say the man who was allegedly arrested in front of his child just for taking a photo of the Police at the opposition rally was in fact taken under custody for throwing an object at the officers present on the scene.

This comes after many on social media 'attacked' the police for the way they arrested the man in question who the opposition said was there just to take a photo and that the man was arrested in front of his child.

The Opposition said that Police arrested the man who stopped at the rally on his motorbike with his child to take a picture and that he was arrested while he tried to leave the area. The Opposition also said that Police did not ensure the safety of the child who was traveling with the man taken under custody and that they just left the child at the scene.

The Opposition said that it had taken the child into the opposition office while they waited for a family member to take the child. It called on the human rights commission and the police integrity commission to investigate the incident.

In response to opposition allegations, Police said that the man was arrested because he had thrown an object at the police officers present at the scene.

Police added that as its officers tried to bring the man under their custody, there was not child near the man.
