The Police have launched an investigation into the incident where the party center of the newly formed 'The Democrats' was attacked when a group of assailants on motorbikes through crude oil at it.
Police said that it had received the report of the incident last night and that investigation was well underway.
They added that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
Supporters of the party were present at the center when the assailants through black crude oil at the party center and were splashed by the oil. They include the MP for Vilifushi Constituency Hassan Afeef whose shirt was also stained black by the oil.
Democrats supporters blamed the ruling MDP for what they described as a 'disgraceful' act.
The Democrat's main center is located in front of Artificial Beach. The property was formely used by the ruling MDP as their main party center.
