The Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, has arrived in the Maldives on a state visit at the invitation of His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Prime Minister Modi and his delegation were received by President Dr Muizzu at Velana International Airport (VIA) upon his arrival. The Government will hold an official welcome ceremony in his honour later today.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold official talks with President Dr Muizzu, with a focus on strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbouring nations. The two leaders will also exchange several Memoranda of Understanding and agreements, and deliver joint press statements outlining the outcomes of their discussions.
