A Maldivian who traveled to Saudi Arabia for an Umrah pilgrimage has died while in the Holy City of Mecca.
Sources have identified that 83-year-old Mohamed Zaki of Kolamaafushi died around 12:00 midnight, Mecca time.
He had been on Umrah with Al Burooj Hajj and Umrah group.
Zaki died after making a 2-day trip to Madhinah and while in the state of Ihram to perform another Umrah after returning to Mecca. He died while in his hotel.
The family of the deceased accompanied him to the Holy Land on this Umrah trip and this including his wife, his two sons, and a daughter.
His burial would be held at Mecca today after afternoon prayers and his Janazah prayer would be performed at Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.
