Police say a total of 173 accidents were reported in the first 15 days of Ramadan this year.
In a breakdown, Police said that out of this 151 accidents were reported from the Greater Male' Area and that the next highest number of accidents were reported from Addu City.
They said in the first 15 days of this Ramadan, 9 accidents were reported in the Southern city.
Police also said that 3 accidents were reported from the Haa Dhaalu Atoll in the north and that Haa Alifu Atoll, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City reported 2 accidents each.
They further said that one accident was reported from Raa Atoll, Baa Atoll, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, Dhaalu Atoll, Laamu Atoll, and Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
Police noted that two people died from the accidents reported so far in Ramadan.
Fatalities were reported in an accident reported in Hulhumale' and another one from Raa Atoll Maduvari and both the victims were male.
