Israel's Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana met with External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar on Delhi, and discuss bilateral relations between the two nations.
The two leaders talked about strengthening India-Israel relations and expanding I2U2 cooperation.
Jaishankar stated that connectivity, renewables, agricultural security, start-ups, tourism, and culture could all be added to the two countries' agendas.
Israeli Speaker paid a visit to the Parliament House today to meet with Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Amir Ohana, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, described India as one of Israel's closest and dearest allies. He described being invited to India as a unique pleasure.
During a meeting with Parliament Speaker Om Birla, Ohana said "it gives me great pleasure to be invited particularly to India, one of Israel's closest and dearest friends and the world's largest democracy,"
He also stated that, "Jews have lived peacefully in India for thousands of years,"
"Those Jews who came to Israel from India served as a solid bridge between our two nations. It is one of the few countries on the planet where Jews have been able to exist peacefully for thousands of years without any recognition of antisemitism, which is a foreign term in this country, and we are grateful for that." he added.
