Vice President of Maldives Democratic Party MDP Mohamed Shifaz has been dismissed from his post as a Minister at the President's Office.
Shifaz who was appointed as a Minister at the President's Office back in November 2018 was fired from his post today.
Shifaz is an avid supporter of the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed and has been participating in the Speaker's 'Fikurehge Dhirun' activities.
The government had not revealed why he was removed from his post.
His dismissal from the post comes days after the Managing Director of STO Hussain Amr was also removed from his post.
The government said that it was always looking to enhance the company's performance and that Amr was removed from his post for this purpose.
Amr too is a supporter of Nasheed as he was the first of Head of a State Owned Enterprise to accompany Nasheed on his campaign trial.
