A printing store at Gaafu Alifu Kolamaafushi has burnt to the ground after it caught on fire earlier today.
Speaking to 'The press', Kolamaafushi Councilor Shamaa Thahaan said that the fire started at the printing store and then moved to the godown next door.
Shamaa said that the blaze was first reported around 12:00 pm in the afternoon and Police on an island along with concerned citizens have worked to extinguish the fire.
She added that the reason why the fire ignited in the first place remains unclear and that there have been reported injuries from the incident.
Police confirmed this and noted that no one was injured in the fire and that the fire has now been totally was fully extinguished.
They added that the Police were investigating the fire incident.
