Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali says the air condition system installed in King Salmaan Mosque broke down twice and that it was due to the salt in the air.

The Ac units in the mosque broke down last October and many have complained about the lack of a cooling system in the mosque. The Ministry announced last Thursday that it had finally fixed the issue.

Speaking about the issue in parliament today, Islamic Minister Dr. Zahir said that the issue was first noticed last August. He said that a contractor was brought in to fix the issue and that it was resolved later that month.

The Minister further said that the ACs broke down once again back in October and that the Ministry only assigned a contractor to fix the issue last month. He confirmed that the ACs have now been fixed.

Minister Dr. Zahir also said that the AC issue was repeated due to the salt in the air and that the salty air was corroding the AC units.
