The judicial Service Commission has fired the Chief Magistrate of Dhaandhoo Magistrate Court Luahyu Ibrahim after he was found guilty of sexually harassing one of his colleagues.

The Commission said that it had investigated 22 complaints filed against the former judge and that the Commission reviewed the investigation report at its meeting last Sunday.

It said that the Commission found that out of the 22 incidents against him, he was found not guilty of misconduct in 20 incidents. But most importantly, the former judge was found guilty of misconduct in 2 complaints filed against him.

The former judge was found guilty of sexually harassing one of his former colleagues. He was also found to have been active in his own business and intimidated and influence witnesses in court cases.

JSC said that these offenses went against the misconduct guidelines set under the Judges Code and hence passed to fire the judge from his post.
