A woman who was injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Gaafu Dhaalu Rathafandhoo last Thursday has succumbed to her injuries.
The victim of the explosion has been identified as 53-year-old Aminath Abdulraheem.
The explosion occurred after Aminath had tried to turn on her stove while there was a gas leak in her kitchen. She was caught on fire in the resulting blast and suffered burns on her body.
The victim was rushed to Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo of that atoll to treat her injury.
The hospital had said to some media that she had burn wounds on half of her body.
Reports had confirmed that Aminath was later transferred to Male' and admitted to Indira Gandi Memorial Hospital.
But she succumbed to her injuries earlier this morning.
