Police have arrested the suspect in a fatal stabbing that happened today on the island of Laamu Maavashu.
They said that the incident happened after a scuffle broke out near the island's volleyball court around 10:12 in the morning and that one of the individuals involved in the fight stabbed and injured another.
Police cited the island's hospital to report that the victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The victim of the stabbing has been identified as 29-year-old Moosa Ibrahim from Maavashu.
In its latest update, the Police stated that the scuffle broke out between the victim and the suspect and that the suspect has now been taken into police custody.
The suspect of the fatal stabbing has been identified as 29-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim from Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaram.
Police added that they were further investigating the incident.
