Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC says it has canceled some ferries across the country due to bad weather.
MTCC said that it had temporarily halted ferries for 5 different routes and that 6 ferries have been canceled to due bad weather.
It also said that while 40 ferries had been scheduled for today, despite the bad weather the other 34 ferries would travel as scheduled.
Ferries canceled today include;
- Route 116: From Shaviyani Funadhoo to Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhufushi
- Route 307: From Kaafu Kaashidhoo to Male'
- Route 407: From Dhaalu Meedhoo to Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo
- Route 501: From Thaa Buruni to Thaa Veymandoo
- Route 505: Thaa Buruni to Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo
While, MTCC had canceled some ferries due to bad weather, Maldives Meteorological Services, the Met Office had today said that isolated showers and a few thunderstorms were expected in some areas of the country with moderate seas.
