Male' City Council has decided to issue a special permit for vehicles to use for essential trips during the vehicle-free four hours on Eid day.
City Council had decided earlier that vehicles would be banned for four hours in Male' on Eid day. This was decided at the 50th general meeting of the 4th term of the city council.
The Council had said that vehicles would be banned between 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Male' while in Hulhumale vehicles would be allowed all day on Eid. It said that this was decided based on past eid experiences in Hulhumale.
The City Council also said that vehicles that need to make essential trips during the vehicle-free hour must acquire a sticker from the council and that the stickers would be issued on 30th April and 1st May between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
It added that the stickers would also be issued from the Public Services section of the City Council on Bodu Thakurufaanu magu between 09:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
