State Prosecution says the substance found from the house of one of the suspects arrested for allegedly murdering the Filipino nurse who was killed last October was also found in the victim's blood.
State Prosecutor Ahmed Naufal said this at the hearing of the case held today at the Criminal Court.
While two suspects were arrested and charged over the murder of the nurse from IGMH, suspects have been identified as the victim's husband and his lover, a local nurse named Haleemath Lamha Abdul Rahman.
At the hearing, Naufal said that Mary's toxicology report showed traces of Succinylcholine in her blood. He added that the tests were done abroad and that the state had received the verbal report of the tests and is expecting the full written analysis to be in their hands soon.
Succinylcholine is general anesthesia or sedatives to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures.
Traces of the drug was found in injections police had discovered from Lamha's house after they raided the residence upon her arrest last year.
State Prosecutor also said that needle punctures were also found on Mary's body.
While Mary's husband Marvin had been charged with murder, the PG office had decided to pursue three charges against the 19-year-old Lamha.
This includes acting as an accomplice of the murder of nurse Mary Grace and the PG Office had said Lamha had aided in the planning and execution of the heinous act. It added that the suspect will be given a minimum jail sentence of 6 years if found guilty.
