Authorities say that match tickets of the Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy tournament would be sold to Maldivians at a slashed price of 3,000 Sri Lankan Rupees.

Officials in Lanka have said before that match day tickets would be sold to Maldivians for 5,000 Sri Lankan Rupees.

But, Maldivian Youth Minister Ahmed Mahloof confirmed that ticket prices have been slashed after discussion with Sri Lankan officials.

Mahloof said that he had initiated discussions with the Sri Lankan officials upon the request of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The Minister said that he had spoken to the President of the Sri Lankan Football Federation Jaswar Umar and that they had decided to sell tickets to Maldivians for Rupees 3,000.

Mahloof added that these tickets would be sold from another pavilion in the stadium.

He thanked Sri Lankan Youth Minister Namal Rajpaksa and Umar for their cooperation.

The hosts Sri Lanka will take on the Maldives tomorrow and officials in Sri Lanka said tickets would go on sale at 3 in the afternoon today. While tickets would be sold till 6 pm today, officials said tickets would be sold to Maldivians from the Maldivian Embassy in Colombo as well as the from the Maldivian community center in the City.

The match between the two neighbors would be played tomorrow at 7:30 pm Maldivian time.
