Police in Haa Dhaalu Atoll Kulhudufushi City has arrested three individuals for allegedly setting fire to a couple of motorcycles parked at a residential house in the city.
Police said that the three individuals who were arrested include a 43-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and a 36-year-old man.
They said that the 43-year-old suspect was arrested on the 27th of this month. Police also said that the remaining two suspects were arrested three days earlier on the 24th of this month.
Police added that all three were arrested under a court order.
They said that at the remand hearing, the court had ordered that the 36-year-old suspect be remanded in custody for 15 days while it ordered that the 35-year-old be remanded in custody for 10 days. It also ordered that the 45-year-old should be remanded in custody for five more days.
The case was first reported earlier this month on 11th June after several motorcycles were set ablaze while parked outside a house in Kulhufushi.
Police had said that two motorcycles and 1 battery cycle that had been damaged in the fire were beyond repair and another vehicle had also been damaged in the fire.
Police said that it was still investigating the incident.
