The Parliament's Committee on Oversight of the Security Forces has today summoned Defence Minister Maria Ahmed Didi for its ongoing parliamentary inquiry.

The Committee, dubbed 241 Committee, in short, launched the inquiry to investigate the security breach that led to the attack against the speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed last month.

The parliament tweeted pictures of the closed-door meeting at which Minister Maria appeared to answer questions posed by the committee probing the failed assassination attempt against the speaker.

It is unclear which line of questions the Minister had faced as the committee had questioned several high-profile government officials during its ongoing parliamentary inquiry.

Last Saturday it had summoned Home Minister Imran Abdullah while it had also asked high-ranking officials from both the Police force and the Maldives National Defence Force MNDF.
