The Parliament's Committee on Oversight of the Security Forces has today summoned Home Minister Imran Abdullah for its ongoing parliamentary inquiry.
The Committee, dubbed 241 Committee, in short, launched the inquiry to investigate the security breach that led to the attack against the speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed last month.
The parliament tweeted pictures of the closed-door meeting at which Home Minister Imran answered the questions posed by the committee probing the failed assassination attempt against the speaker.
Imran joins a list of high-profile officials who have given statements to the 241 Committee including the Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed and Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamal as well as Housing Minister, Mohamed Aslam.
Last week, the committee had heard from the Governor of the Central Bank and other top officials at the bank.
The committee had also summoned members of Nasheed's security detail as well as other security officials from both MNDF and the Police force.
