The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has denied reports that say that the Maldives and Israel are to begin scheduled flights between the two countries.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry said that reports that had stated the two countries are working to begin flights between the countries are false and completely baseless.

The statement went onto say that the government had no discussions with any airline about establishing flight routes between the two destinations and that the government had not given permission to any airline to start the scheduled flights.

It also said that nor had the government entered any agreements with any party regarding the establishment of flight routes between the two countries.

The Ministry assured that the administration had no intention of starting flights between Israel and the Maldives and assured that the government had not signed any agreement that would pave way for this.

This comes after the Israeli media reported that the Maldives and Israel are ready to begin direct flights between the two destinations
