Maldives Monetary Authority MMA says the central bank and the commercial banks would be providing services on three days next week.
MMA said that from the week of 13th, June to 17th, June, the central bank along with other banks would provide services to the public on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
The Central Bank said that on these days it would provide banking services from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm and that these services would be provided only on an appointment basis.
MMA also said that on these three days members of the public can submit letters to the bank between 09:00 am to 12:30 pm.
The MMA's decision came after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced earlier this week that authorities would extend the latest restrictive measures taken against COVID-19 in the country by another week.
This includes a 16-hour curfew from 04:00 pm to 08:00 am in the Greater Male' Area and banning residents from going outside without a police-issued permit during non-curfew hours.
President Solih had also extended the duration of the previously announced government office closure, from June 8 to June 15 this week.
The President's Office had said that all government offices in the Greater Malé Region (Malé, Hulhumalé, Villingili, Thilafushi and Gulhifalhu) are to remain closed as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of Covid-19.
