Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam has said that the government had no intention of reallocating the flats promised to MNDF and Police personal under the Hiya Housing Scheme.
He made the scathing comments on Twitter in response to a media report quoting a civil organization that had said that the government had plans to scrap the flats promised for members of the security services.
Minister Aslam said that the government had no intention of reallocating these flats to anyone else and that those spreading such information have only one intention. He said that this was to create mischief and labeled the information as 'rubbish'.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Maria Mohamed also labeled the news as fake and untrue.
She said that MNDF personnel would know that the military had now conducted interviews of those who applied for the 300 housing units allocated for MNDF.
Many had voiced concern over the Hiya Housing Scheme distribution under this administration with many claiming that several deserved applicants have been left off the permanent flat recipient lists.
