Speaker of the parliament and leader MDP Mohamed Nasheed says Vice President Faisal Naseem is with MDP for the upcoming local council election.

He made this comment via Twitter after sharing a picture of himself and the VP having evening tea together.

Nasheed said that the fact that VP Faisal is with MDP for the coming elections is evidence that the VP wants what is best for the whole country.

Sharing Nasheed's tweet, VP Faisal said that it was a great pleasure to meet and share ideas with the speaker.

He said that the campaigning for the local council should be done in a nationalistic manner with all the necessary precautions and a brighter day would dawn as a result.

Although Nasheed had said that VP Faisal stands with MDP for the local council elections, he became the Vice President to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih after competing in a Jumhooree Party JPSlot.

JP itself has fielded many candidates for the local council elections rescheduled for next month and would have accepted the VP's backing in their campaign activities.

The Elections Commission is planning to hold the vote on the 10th of April.
