India has provided 2400 vials of BCG vaccine (2400 vials of 10 doses each) after the Maldivian government requested their assistance in the matter.

The consignment arrived in the Maldives today.
The consignment was airlifted from Mumbai, India in coordination with the Indian Government agencies, and the Ministry of Health, and with the support of the High Commission of Maldives in Delhi and the Honorary Consul of the Maldives in Mumbai.
The Government of Maldives extends its deepest appreciation to the Prime Minister of India, the Government, and the people of India for its timely assistance at all times.
Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid thanked the Indian government via Twitter for always being among the first responders.
He also acknowledged the Maldivian diplomatic team in Delhi and the Honorary Consul in Mumbai for their excellent work.
Over the years, India has become a reliable bilateral partner and has helped the Maldives manage several situations that had required immediate attention.
Most recently, the Indian government has helped the Maldivian government amid the financial upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
