Police have confiscated more than 203 kg of narcotics today in front of invited public observers at Dhoonidhoo earlier today.
It said that these narcotics were seized from 3 major drug operations conducted in September and October of this year.
Police said that four observers participated in the burning of seized items.
In a tweet, the Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed had said that to further increase transparency in the handling of police seized narcotics, prior to the burning the police invited public observers to randomly select packages from the 203 kgs of drugs for testing its type in Dhoonidhoo today.
The confiscated narcotics include 224 rubber packets, 15,8188 g of Heroin, 3788g of cannabis, 41090g of methamphetamine recimate, and other items.
Police had said that the confiscated items weighed around 203.07 kg and were worth 203 million rufiyaa.
