Health Protection Agency HPA says 20 more people had tested positive for COVID-19 in the country yesterday.

In a tweet, HPA said that this includes 15 new cases from the Greater Male’ Area, 2 new cases reported from inhabited islands, 2 new cases confirmed from the operational resorts, and one confirmed from a safari.

HPA also said that this takes the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country to a staggering 13,368.

HPA also revealed that 47 people have recovered from the illness yesterday in the Maldives and that the total number of recoveries has now reached 12,659 in the Maldives.

The Agency said that the active cases of COVID-19 in the country have dropped to 607 and that 67 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized for further treatment.

HPA had confirmed that 48 people have died from COVID-19 in the Maldives since April of this year including 41 locals and 7 foreigners.
