Health Protection Agency HPA reports 66 new cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives on Friday taking the total number of cases in the country past 10,800.
In a tweet, HPA said that 60 cases were reported from the Greater Male’ Area while 6 cases were confirmed from the islands and resorts.
HPA also said that the new cases include 54 locals and 12 foreigners.
The new cases reported in the Maldives on Friday take the total number of cases confirmed in the country to 10,808.
Meanwhile, HPA also said that 65 people had recovered from the illness on Friday. This takes the total recoveries recorded in the country to 9654.
HPA confirmed that 1113 cases remained as active cases of COVID-19 while 369 were currently under isolation at various facilities across the country. The Agency noted that 74 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in different hospital settings.
HPA highlighted that 21 inhabited islands in the country have 147 active cases of COVID-19 and that currently, no island is under monitoring. It also said that 19 resorts have active cases of the pandemic including 10 tourists and 16 staff.
The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 34 lives here in the Maldives including 28 locals and 6 foreigners.
