Police have arrested 4 individuals in possession with huge amounts of alcohol in two separate operations carried out in the capital Male’.
Police said that in an operation carried out on the 13th of this month, three men were arrested while loading suspicious cargo to a pickup truck parked near a house in Henveiru Ward. Police said it had seized 511 beer can upon searching the vehicle.
Police also said that it had arrested two local men aged 30 and a 23-year-old Bangladeshi national in relation to the case.
Meanwhile, Police said it had stopped and searched a van in the Industrial Area of Male’ and had found 116 bottles of alcohol from the vehicle.
Police said it had arrested a 26-year-old local man in relation to the case.
Police had said that it's Drug Enforcement Department is currently investigating both cases.
