Police have arrested 7 men from a house in a Male after they were caught with huge amounts of narcotics and cash.
Police said in an operation it had carried out on the 14th of this month after its Drug Intelligence Unit received a tip, its officers had raided a house in Henveiru Ward of the capital Male’ under a court order.
Police said that 7 men were arrested from the residence and they include a 19-year-old, a 21-year-old, a 22-year-old, a 25-year-old, a 26-year-old, 27-year-old, and a 28-year-old.
Police also said that its officers seized 42 empty film cases, 28 rubber packets, and 216 cellophane strip and other material with suspicious substances as well as 255 pills of controlled medications. Police added that it also seized MVR 17,150 in cash from the house.
Police said it's Drug Enforcement Department was in the midst of further investigating the case.
Police have raided several houses in Male’ this month and have busted several in possession of narcotics, drugs, and alcohol.
