Police have raided 3 residences in Male’ and have arrested two men in possession of 3.3kg of narcotics and MVR 57,000 in cash.
Police said that it raided the three houses after its drug enforcement department and drug intelligence department received a tip.
It said that the raid operation was carried out yesterday evening around 6:15 pm.
Police clarified that two men were arrested in the raid and that both were local and 26-years of age.
Police assured that the houses were raided under a court order and the houses include one in Galolhu Ward and two in Maafannu Ward of Male’.
It said police recovered 84 empty film cases and rubber packets with suspicious substances and MVR 2750 in cash from the raid on one of the houses in Maafannu ward.
From the second house in Maafannu, Police recovered MVR 54,800 in cash while from the house in Galolhu ward police found used film cases and rubber packets containing suspicious substances.
Police Drug Enforcement Department is currently investigating the case
