Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) on Saturday, 05 September, issued warnings of rougher seas across Maldives.

According to the premier weather forecast authority in the country, waves may lift up between 4 to 7 feet in height due to worsening weather conditions.

Moreover, several islands are expected to experience tidal waves crashing inland during high-tide while many of the low lying country's islands suffer with soil erosion.

The authority further warns wind speed to pick up between 13 to 23 miles per hour within the next 24 hour window with wind reaching in from West-Southwest. Meanwhile, MET has issued white alerts on several parts of the country.
