Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that 119 individuals had recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives on Monday as authorities look to further prevent the spread of the rampant pandemic.
In its latest COVID-19 update, HPA said that the new recoveries have taken the total number of recoveries to a promising 5155 in the Maldives since it reported the first case of COVID-19 back in March.
HPA also said that the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has decreased from 181 to 172 in the last 24 hours. Although, the number of active cases has increased from 2597 to 2615 since yesterday.
HPA added that 1451 individuals remained under isolation at various facilities across the country.
The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 28 lives here in the Maldives with 11 individuals dying this month. The individuals who lost the fight against the pandemic include 22 locals and 6 foreigners.
The locals who died mostly include elderly patients with underlying health conditions although a 42-year-old had also died from COVID-19 in the country in August.
