A deceased body was discovered earlier on Monday morning near the industrial island of Thilafushi.
Maldives Police Service confirms the body was discovered floating just outside the lagoon of the industrial island, claiming the report was lodged at the authority around 08:36hrs on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, sources confirm officers of Maldives Police Service were active at the site where the body was discovered.
Though police confirms they were currently investigating the incident, they had not disclosed the nationality of the individual discovered.
While a deceased body was found, earlier in 19 November, an individual was grievously injured with knife stabbings on board a local fishing vessel at Raa atoll Maduvvari. The victim was thrown overboard after the incident.
So far it is unclear if the two incidents have any connection, while authorities claim they were probing for every possibility.
