Authorities have brought changes to the labs conducting tests for presence of Covid-19 virus in departing tourists from Maldives.
Previously Health Protection Agency (HPA) listed out the responsible medical institutions or hospitals that will conduct tests on departing tourists which included Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), ADK Hospital, Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and Addu Equitorial Hospital along with Tree Top Hospital at Hulhumale'.
However, with the recent changes the health authority has removed Tree Top Hospital from the list confirming the hospital will no longer conduct tests for tourists leaving the country.
Meanwhile, the previous announcement disclosed prices for tests while the recent announcement made no disclosure on it, while adding the tourists must contact directly to the laboratories for testing.
Health Protection Agency has publicized the contact numbers of all attested laboratories through which tourists can conduct tests prior to departure.
Moreover, HPA demands tourists to provide sample 48 hours prior to departure if they want tests results before leaving the country.
