Health authorities place Faafu atoll Bilehdhoo under monitoring following Covid-19 positive case discovery from the island.
The island has been placed under monitoring after the recently deceased fishing boat crewman originating from the island had tested positive for Covid-19 posthumously.
Earlier, a 50 year old local fishing boat crewman passed away amid trip and was tested for the disease at Guraidhoo Health Center.
Meanwhile authorities are conducting a contact-trace to assess the degree of spread and to ensure contacts with the now deceased boat crew are placed in quarantine.
Moreover, Health Protection Agency (HPA) have advised Bilehdhoo locals against travel to or from the island until further notice - confirming a travel restriction was in place.
