Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) on Saturday, 22 August, confirm a total of 348 individuals have yet to be transferred into quarantine facilities.

According to HEOC, the total number of individuals in need of quarantine transfer was updated as of 18:00hrs of Friday, 21 August. Moreover the authority confirms 194 out of the total have not been transferred due to delays in the transfer operations by HEOC.

Moreover 89 of these individuals have refused to comply in being transferred to quarantine facilities while 18 individuals are waiting for test results of their immediate family members.

Additionally 33 individuals have not provided any confirmation regarding transfer to faclities while 14 individuals are included in the list who have not been transferred to facilities over various reasons.

Meanwhile positive cases of Covid-19 have been surging following a second wave of community outbreak, while total number of positive cases reported from Maldives have exceeded over 6,500 - inclusive of recoveries and active cases.

According to the latest development from Ministry of Health, the total number of active cases stood at 2,527 while 166 of these individuals have been hospitalized for treatment. Additionally 1,398 individuals remain at various isolation facilities after contracting the viral disease.

Furthermore, active cases have been discovered in 21 different islands outside of Greater Male' Region, while 10 resorts have reported active cases.
