Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC spokesman Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq has taken part in her first news briefing after going under home quarantine last week.
Answering a question from ‘The Press’ at last night’s news briefing, Dr. Nazla said that she was fine and that as she is not a high-risk contact, she is yet to test for COVID-19.
Dr. Nazla said that she would get tested after completing the 14-days mandatory quarantine.
She participated in the news conference via her home.
Last week, Dr. Nazla announced via tweeter that she was under home quarantine after coming into contact with a family member who had tested positive for COVID-19.
She added that she would continue joining HEOC news briefings from her home.
Senior Medical Officer at the Health Protection Agency HPA Dr. Nazla was appointed as the spokesperson for the newly formed HEOC on July 4th after the National Emergency Operation Center HEOC was dissolved.
She has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning and has appeared on dozens of news briefings and continues to update the media and the nation on the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
