Health Authorities on Tuesday, 28 July 2020, confirm a total of seven residences from the island of Haa Alif Kelaa have been brought under quarantine.

Earlier on Tuesday morning it was confirmed a Covid-19 positive case was discovered from the Northern region island, which was corroborated by the island council's deputy.

According to the island's council authority the seven residences along with a sea vessel have been placed under quarantine subsequently following the discovery of the positive case. The council further notes the residences were placed under quarantine following contact tracing on the patient.

The residences and the vessel will remain under quarantine in a non-discriminatory conduct until otherwise informed by Health Protection Agency (HPA).

Meanwhile, the council authorities has urged against public gatherings and visiting high-contact areas.
