Aasandha says 3 locals who traveled to India for medicine have now tested positive for COVID-19 with the global pandemic rampant in the country.

It said that the three people who tested positive for COVID-19 include patients and relatives who went to India’s Amritha Hospital and they had traveled to the hospital as instructed by Aasandha.

Aasandha also said that while some locals have been quarantined and others have been isolated as a result, the hospital couldn’t accommodate the locals for further treatment.

It also said that the locals won’t be sent to Amritha Hospital from now on and would now be sent to KIMs hospital instead to further facilitate their treatment.

This comes after the parents and family of a baby who was due to visit Amritha hospital for an emergency surgery voiced their concerns outside Muleeaage yesterday after they were told that the baby would now be taken to KIMS hospital.

Addressing this matter, Aasandha said after the parents had said that they did not want to take their child to KIMs hospital, the health scheme had now arranged the child to be taken to Amritha Hospital with the next batch of locals traveling to India.

Aasandha added that it was working to send the child as soon as possible.
