Health Protection Agency HPA reports 36 new cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives today.
In a tweet, HPA said the 36 new cases include 29 Maldivians, 5 Bangladeshis, and 2 Indians.
HPA also confirmed that a total of 2966 have now tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives since its first case of the pandemic back in March. This includes 1259 locals as well as 1365 Bangladeshis and 245 Indians.
Meanwhile, HPA said that 8 people have today recovered from COVID-19 in the country taking the total number of recoveries to a promising 2362.
HPA added that there are currently 574 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives with 468 in the isolation facilities.
HPA confirmed that the state is not hosting any individuals at its quarantine facilities at the moment.
The Maldives has now reported 15 COVID-19 deaths in the country including 10 Maldivians and five foreigners.
