An individual under home quarantine at Raa atoll Hulhudhuffaaru tests positive for Covid-19 virus.
The island council's president Ali Jaavid confirms one of its locals at home quarantine has in fact tested positive and was discovered after samples collected on Saturday, 12 June following the 14-day quarantine period.
Meanwhile, Hulhudhuffaaru council president further detailed that the individual was still under home quarantine and they were under isolated quarantine.
The individual traveled to Hulhudhuffaaru through Ifuru while the council confirms no one else from the island traveled aboard the flight the patient took.
Earlier, it was reported that three individuals under home quarantine at Raa atoll Dhuvaafaru tested positive for Covid-19 while the island has been placed under HPA monitoring.
Their confirmation for testing positive to the viral contagion came on Saturday afternoon.
Subsequently, Dhuvaafaru council's deputy Hawwa Shameela confirmed all three individuals who tested positive for the disease belonged to the same family.
As of now Maldives reports a total of 2,664 positive cases inclusive of both active cases and recoveries. So far 2,268 individuals have made recoveries from the viral contagion while 13 deaths have been reported in the country - all of whom died due to complications rising after contracting the disease.
Meanwhile a total of 368 individuals were receiving treatment after contracting the disease.
