Health Ministry confirms that Senior Medical Officer at Health Protection Agency HPA Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq has been appointed as the spokesperson for Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC.
The HEOC was established in place of the National Emergency Operations Center NECO as the country entered into Phase III of the lockdown ease on the first of this month.
With this NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez had left his post as NEOC Spokesperson.
Newly appointed HEOC Spokesperson Dr. Nazla addressed the media earlier tonight to offer the latest developments in the COVID-19 crisis.
She said that the fight against the global pandemic continues and that the threat of a massive outbreak of the virus still looms over the capital city.
Dr. Nazla played a pivotal role in the NEOC back when it was operational and hosting press briefings to the media, on a daily basis.
