Maldives Monetary Authority MMA says due to the easing of the Covid-19 lockdown restriction by the Government, it would resume the service of issuing small-denomination banknotes and coins from the 16th of June.
In a tweet, MMA said that from the 16th of June to the end of June, these services would be provided on every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
MMA said people requiring these services should SMS and Viber their name, ID card number or passport number, present address, contact number, and the details of the service to mobile number 7919292.
It said that MMA would arrange to obtain permits from Maldives Police Service and that the permit would include the date and timing to attend MMA.
MMA also said that during the period from 14th June to 30th June, the central bank and other banks would be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
