Health authorities on Saturday have confirmed the discovery of 18 new positive cases of Covid-19 and 46 new recoveries.
The update was confirmed by Health Protection Agency (HPA), which has now spiked the total number of cases found in Maldives to 1901.
Meanwhile the total number of recoveries in Maldives have now increased to 763, with Saturday's addition.
Saturday's new positive cases included 13 locals and 3 Bangladeshis along with 1 Nepalese and 1 Sri Lankan.
Moreover, on Saturday it was further confirmed that another individual has died due to Covid-19 virus.
The youngest positive case from Maldives was discovered from an 11 year old child, case number MAV1464 and the oldest patient is 92 years old, MAV1547.\
It has been more than a month since Greater Male' Region was brought under total lockdown in light of the viral pandemic's community outbreak.
Although the number of cases were discovered at alarming numbers during the initial weeks, it has now receded. However, new cases are still discovered on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, Maldives government have decided to ease restrictive measures placed amid the lockdown.
