National Emergency Operations Center NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says he cannot deny the negligence of non-COVID-19 patients as the country’s healthcare system faces an unrivaled adversary in the form of the global pandemic.

Speaking to the media, Mabrook said hospitals around the country are providing thousands of medical services to the public on a daily basis. He said that only cases of neglect are being highlighted these days.

Mabrook said that the country must not forget the sacrifices made by healthcare professionals day and night for the whole nations’ wellbeing. He said many areas of healthcare have improved but there are some cases where negligence is applicable.

The spokesperson also said that if there is a major development, relevant authorities share the information with media and also talk about areas that need improvement.

Mabrook said even though 55 percent of the country’s heath care system has been allocated for the Covid-19 pandemic, the remaining 45 percent is working to treat non-COVID patients.

He also that when the country is dealing with a health crisis of such a magnitude, some health care services are bound to be inaccessible.

This comes after the growing number of complaints saying that health care professionals have been neglecting non-COVID patients with several denied timely treatment which in some cases have proven fatal.
