Health Protection Agency HPA confirms an 89-year old local woman has died of Covid-19 in the Maldives.
In a tweet, HPA said that today at 06:20 am an 89-year old Maldivian woman in Hulhumale Isolation Facility had passed away.
This is the 7th person to die of Covid-19 in the Maldives.
Yesterday a 54 year old Bangladeshi man died of Covid-19 while being treated at Treetop hospital.
Previously, 3 locals and 2 other Bangladeshi nationals have died of Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The locals include an 83-year-old woman, an 80-year-old man, and an 88-year-old man.
The Bangladeshis who passed away from Covid-19 include a 33-year-old and a 45-year-old, both working in the country.
A total of 1829 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives with 488 having recovered from the illness.
