Male’ Area has been under lockdown since the 15th of April after the discovery of its first case of Covid-19. After 6 weeks of strict lockdown, the government has this week eased some of the restrictive measures and said that it would continue to do so if the number of cases continues to drop in the country.

However, yesterday Health Protection Agency HPA reported 101 new cases of Covid-19 taking the total number of cases in the country to 1773.
