National Health Scheme Aasandha says its services would be available to newborns via mother’s national Identity card until the lockdown Male’ Area is lifted.

Speaking to reporters at last night’s NEOC press briefing, Aasandha Managing Director Mariyam Shafeeq said that health services would be provided to newborns via their mother’s ID card until the lockdown of Male’ Area due to Covid-19 is eased. She said before the newborns were given health services using their mother’s ID cards for 28 days.

The national Health scheme had also allowed individuals to use a photo of their ID cards if they are unable to provide the physical card during the Covid-19 crisis.

It had also said individuals can submit a copy of the ID card or driver’s license or Passport or any other official document that displays their ID card number to access their national health scheme.

The company had assured that its portal would be able to verify such documents that are submitted in place of the ID card.

AlthoughAasandha available to newborns via mother’s ID card until the lockdown is lifted Aasandha had administered its services to only valid ID cards, many people are unable to renew expired ID cards or replace lost ID cards due to the lockdown of the capital city as a result of the widespread Covid-19 global pandemic.
